Research process
How research directions are run and published.
How U Framework runs and publishes research.
Directions
A research direction is a standing area of investigation defined by a set of open questions. Directions are listed publicly on the research page with a status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active direction | Ongoing work with dedicated time |
| Exploration | Literature study and small experiments |
| Early exploration | The question is defined; work has barely started |
From question to note
- Frame a specific, answerable question.
- Review what is already known, and its limits.
- Experiment with a recorded method, data and environment.
- Write up the result — positive or negative — with its conditions.
- Publish as a research note when it is useful to others.
Publication rules
- Directions are not results; we never imply findings we do not have.
- Every note states method, data and limitations.
- Negative results are published when they would save others time.
- Notes that depend on third-party data or models name them.
